Niniejsza książka jest zapisem moich medytacji z okresu kilku pierwszych miesięcy od chwili, w której, po jakichś dwudziestu latach praktyki buddyjskiej, podjąłem decyzję przejścia na katolicyzm. Pisałem ją w początkowej fazie mojego wtajemniczenia w wiarę katolicką. Najlepiej chyba byłoby ją traktować jak to, co buddyści nazywają "medytacją analityczną", metodycznie zgłębiającą jakieś zagadnienie. [...] To tylko notki, myśli, moje medytacje. Ale spisywanie ich ogromnie pomogło mi w lepszym zrozumieniu tego, co wybrałem.
