Numerical analysis for reservoir engineering scenarios is necessary due to the importance of predict the consequences and products of water or oil exploitation, as well as the vast quantity of variables that are associated with hydraulic engineering, oil, and rock geomechanics. Due to this, the present work consists to show the relative activities for geomechanical coupling and flux simulation based on paper SPE – 79709 of Dean et al. (2006). This way, the used software for coupling was IMEX (2019), in the explicit iterative coupling, with geomechanics and flux model of the same simulator and, posteriorly, was used the geomechanics simulator FLAC3D 6.0 associated with the flux model of IMEX and programming with MATLAB and FISH to transfer the data between simulators. In addition, the results demonstrate the satisfactory obtention of convergence of the problems proposed by Dean et al. (2006), in IMEX with geomechanics. For iterative coupling between FLAC3D and IMEX was obtained good behavior convergence of problem 1. At the end of the simulations, a reservoir model is elaborated based on this problem with the inclusion of a horizontal fracture near the region of the producing well. This type of coupling allows an accurate study with the highest level of complexity and inclusion of variables to reservoir behavior, as the inclusion of fractures and constitutive models.

During the Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) – Workers Party, Governments in Brazil, non-electoral and extra-parliamentary political participation grew significantly. Both Lula and Rousseff used an increasing number of mechanisms of participation, known in Portuguese as órgãos colegiados – "collegiate bodies", for democratizing political decisions. Stefanie Tomé Schmitt's book addresses the impacts of participatory policy-making on business-state relations under the New Developmentalism. Her research uncovers business participation in 125 collegiate bodies based on data collected with the peak sectoral corporatist business associations of agriculture, commerce, industry and financial services. It discloses a formalized pattern of business politics linked to the use of Corporatist Institutions, exposing a gap between Political Sociology and Political Economy approaches to interest representation in Brazil. In joining the rule configuration assessment with a process tracing of participatory policy-making in employment, innovation, and biodiversity, her investigation also reveals that engendering a more formalized pattern of business politics relied on more than choices of institutional design promoting business inclusiveness: it was contingent on business and government commitment building within mechanisms of participation and in related policy networks.

The theory of the Unconditional Basic Income (UBI) has been debated for centuries. However, one of the major obstacles to the implementation of the UBI is lack of empirical testing. Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programs that resemble the UBI, to a certain degree, as is the case of the Bolsa Família (BF), have also been implemented. This project is internationally considered as an example of success in combating historical poverty and inequality in Brazil. Observing what lessons may be learned from the Brazilian experience, the present work thus aims to analyze the Bolsa Família program so that contributions to current UBI studies may also be considered. To achieve this end, based on the theoretical foundations of the UBI, some central topics are addressed, namely: (i) Freedom, (ii) Labor, (iii) Politics and (iv) Feminism. Subsequently, the present study focuses on the Bolsa Família experience, narrating the genesis of the program, as well as its implementation and evolution over the years, which makes it possible to look into how the Brazilian socioeconomic indexes have been affected since the creation of this Income Transfer policy. Without intending to be an end in itself, the present work aims to engage and encourage the debate on setting up a functional and improved UBI project.

This book is characterized as the result of an ethnomusicological and historical research by Recife musician Walter Wanderley (1932-1986), known as a representative of Bossa Nova. Organist, pianist, arranger and sporadic composer, Walter Wanderley has released dozens of records on record labels such as Odeon, Philips, the American company Verve and many others, both as an instrumentalist and arranger for singers and as solo instrumental albums. Even with such a robust record production, Walter Wanderley seems to have been forgotten by most records in the History of Brazilian Popular Music. This book tries to help understand how this success happened predominantly only outside his country of origin and the reasons why his name was practically omitted by historiography and by important references of Bossa Nova. As was his performance in other genres such as Samba, Bolero, Sambalanço and Sambajazz, which are much more present in his work than Bossa Nova itself, a genre for which the artist came to be labeled as representative, especially after his death. The book makes a contribution to the construction of knowledge for Ethnomusicology, Musicology and other areas of study of Brazilian Popular Music in its relations with the cultural industry and with the aspects between Memory and Forgetfulness.

Brazil has a very peculiar tax collection power distribution and revenue sharing system, that splits three way the consumption tax, giving taxation powers over goods circulation to the States, over services to the Municipalities and over production to the Union. The Brazilian State circulation of goods tax, whose regulations require unanimity to incentives and benefits concessions, even though the 27 Brazilian States development state are disparate, generates a "fiscal war" / State competition that costs 30 billion Brazilian Reais (6 billion Swiss Francs) yearly and the attempts at settling State Competition are clearly failing, while Switzerland, which has a similar political organization, seems to have a reasonable and functional system. This dissertation, requirement for the obtaining the title of Doctor in International Tax law, takes a case study approach to compare these two systems, specifically taxable events, financial transfer mechanisms and their rules to avoid State / Canton tax competition to assess if the Swiss system for tax collection power distribution and revenue sharing is a feasible solution to reduce the adverse effects of State tax competition in Brazil.

Toutes les 40 secondes, quelqu'un se suicide dans le monde. L'Organisation mondiale de la santé estime également que la dépression sera la maladie la plus invalidante au monde d'ici 2030. Selon l'Organisation internationale du travail, 12 milliards de journées de travail sont perdues chaque année à cause de la dépression et de l'anxiété, qui coûtent à l'économie mondiale près d'un billion de dollars. . The implementation of the Information Systems (IS) Architecture is one of the steps in the construction of the Enterprise Architecture (EA), according to The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), and can bring notable benefits in supporting the management and governance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in organizations, including of health. However, this task is usually followed by several challenges, even more so when we refer to University Hospitals (HU), which are hospitals dedicated to teaching, research, and extension. The purpose of this book is to disseminate an empirical research whose methodological course was carried out in three phases: 1- an extensive Systematic Literature Review, based on 9 specific research questions, to explore the state of the art of the application of EA in health. 2- proposed the 5tep Model, with five well-defined steps to help the implementation of the IS Architecture in HUs. 3- practical application of the 5tep Model together with TOGAF 9.2 and the Archi tool to build and deliver the IS Architecture of a large HU which seeks to improve the provision of services to the population through investments in ICT. En la actual situación del planeta, la crisis ambiental ya parece ser un consenso mundial una vez que hay un reconocimiento generalizado en el mundo a cerca de la seriedad de los problemas ambientales que nos afectan. Como la Educación Ambiental (EA) está prevista en la legislación educacional brasileña y debe estar presente a partir del tema transversal Medio Ambiente de los Parámetros Curriculares Nacionales, La presente investigación buscó verificar las concepciones de Educación Ambiental de los profesores de la Escuela Municipal Profesora Hilda do Carmo Siqueira ubicada en Duque de Caxias, RJ, Brasil, que actúan en la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos y procuró entender también de qué forma tales concepciones interfieren en sus prácticas pedagógicas. Para esto, se procuró identificar como se producía el abordaje de la EA, cuáles estrategias didácticas estaban siendo utilizadas y cuáles se hacían necesarias, considerando las dos principales corrientes que actúan en el campo de EA: la corriente preservacionista y la corriente crítica. Después del estudio se percibió que una gran parcela de los profesores posee una concepción preservacionista de EA con menos potencial de realizar los cambios necesarios para la superación de la actual crisis socio ambiental. En contrapartida solamente una parcela pequeña de los profesores (aproximadamente 30%) presentó concepciones que se aproximan más de la vertiente crítica de EA que es la vertiente capaz de realizar un contrapunto a la vertiente preservacionista por ser más transformadora, emancipatoria, que dialoga con los principios de la educación popular de Paulo Freire y de la pedagogía crítica. Esta Educación Ambiental Crítica en la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos puede ayudar a los estudiantes, por los caminos pedagógicos, a buscar una concientización y así, a una consecuente mudanza de actitudes de manera que sea posible la comprensión de los problemas socio ambientales y que pueda contribuir para la transformación de los padrones actuales de uso y distribución de los recursos naturales.

The large caseloads to be tried in the courts and the dissatisfaction of jurisdictions with the judgments are the main reasons for the application of mediation in the courts. The culture of litigation and the Civil Law system applied in Brazil are driving factors in order to arise more lawsuits, given to a greater possibility of different decisions for similar situations, in contrast to the Common Law, applied in almost all of the United States, where the citizen is more cautious when filing lawsuits, because it is more difficult to reverse a precedent. Given the need to change this situation, a movement began in Brazil to encourage agreements between the parties in the process, with the National Council of Justice having issued the Resolution No. 125/2010 instituting mediation and, later, the provision of such institute by the new Code of Civil Procedure of 2015. The previous Code of Civil Procedure, from 1973, already regulated conciliation, although it does not have the same effectiveness as mediation in the resolution of conflicts in a more definitive way, especially in demands whose conflict parties have a continued relationship among themselves, such as those involving Family Law, for example. Indeed, among the different types of alternative methods of conflict resolution, mediation is within the best results. So, it is of fundamental importance the comparative study of the mediation in Brazil and the United States, analyzing the participants of mediation, the types of mediation, how it is applied in practice in each country, the advantages and disadvantages and thinking how to improve the institute of mediation in both countries, considering the differences and similarities between them.
